Loom envisions an education system that is as fulfilling and productive for the people who work within it as it is for the students it serves. We help leaders across the education sector cultivate organizations of achievement and belonging.

WHAT WE DO

Loom helps leaders first to ground strategy in their beliefs and aspirations, and then make it real with internal teams, key stakeholders, and the people they serve. We do this by working alongside leaders to develop, strengthen, and integrate strategy and people systems, giving every person in the organization a clear view of the priorities, purpose, and plans so they can achieve success.

In every engagement, we work to create a space where key stakeholders feel comfortable being candid and engaging in productive struggle towards a common goal. As represented in our Core Values, we are deeply committed to leading with:

Empathy. We believe the vast majority of people who work in education are trying to do their best for students. If they aren’t successful, we should look critically at how and what we’ve asked them to do, rather than dismissing their ability to do it.

Inclusion. We believe organizations are more successful when they invite diverse perspectives to participate in planning, listening carefully to their input and adjusting plans accordingly.

Integrity. We’re committed to improving the lives of students and educators by solving complex and interesting problems.

Curiosity. We approach every engagement with an open mind and a willingness to learn new things.

Outcomes. We are guided by theory, but care more about what works in practice.

Through a focus on these Core Values, Loom successfully works alongside leaders to build strategy that aligns closely to the goals and priorities of the organization, mobilizes and motivates employees and stakeholders,  and, most importantly, achieves a shared vision for impact.

Our Partners

What Our Partners Say

  • I believe that the success of [the strategic planning] process is due in part to the fact that Loom took the time to understand our unique context, which helped us to craft a plan that was clear, pragmatic, and actionable.

    Educate Texas
Ryan Franklin, Senior Director of Policy & Advocacy

  • Loom Consulting has been an impactful part of the transformational work we’re engaging in at my state agency. In addition to providing resources and research to support our initiatives, Jessica has served as a strategic thought partner that has really pushed my thinking as a leader. Furthermore, Loom has been able to identify the current state of the agency and then support us in visualizing our future state. This practice has helped to focus us, so we could identify measurable goals and determine the steps needed to accomplish them. Loom has been an integral part of scoping out our transformation and solidifying a path to implementation.

    Louisiana Department of Education
Dawn Love, Executive Director of Organizational Development

  • Loom helped us to articulate our beliefs about family engagement and student persistence and turn them into an actionable strategy to meet enrollment targets. The plan we co-created has given us clarity, direction, and a common purpose.

    Austin Independent School District
Alejandro Delgado, Executive Director of Student Enrollment & Attendance

  • The Loom team’s empathetic and strategic approach helped our team understand the challenge we came to them with was different than the one we most needed to solve. They helped rally diverse voices of our team around a shared vision while also ensuring we crafted together a detailed and actionable project plan to achieve our vision. I also took some notes from their interactive and adaptive facilitation approaches to use with my own team.

UVA Partnership for Leaders in Education
    William Robinson, Executive Director
